Volunteer for the 2024 Blue Talon Bistro Turkey Trot

Join us for a scenic 5K that winds through the grounds of Colonial Williamsburg and the College of William & Mary before ending on Prince George Street. Bring the kids, the stroller, the whole family, and get your holiday off to a great start – you can burn off some of those calories before Thanksgiving Dinner even happens!  The race starts at 8:45 and a Kid's One Mile Fun Run precedes the 5K, starting at 8:00.

Packet Pickup Details:
Pickup your bib and t-shirt under the awning at Blue Talon Bistro located at 420 Prince George St, Williamsburg, VA 23185 at the following times:

-Wednesday, November 27, 2024 from 2:00-6:00 p.m.

-Thursday, November 28, 2024
1 Mile Packet Pickup from 6:00 a.m. until 7:45 a.m. No 1 Mile packet will be assigned after 7:45 a.m. 
5K Packet Pickup from 6:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. No 5K packet will be assigned after 8:30 a.m.

Cheer on runners as they pass by and ensure that they are continuing on the correct path. 

Set up cups of water on table then cheer and distribute cups as runners pass by. Please collect all cups and put into a trash can and pour out any water that was already open after the race concludes around 10:30 or until tail end confirms race end.

For the start assist the timer with corral control so that no runner starts early. This is especially important for the 1 mile race. (Once one kid takes off the rest follow which we need to prevent) Ensure that any late starters bibs are recorded and given to the timer so that adjustments can be made on the back end of the race.

For the finish assist the timer with late starters and report to timer. Also yell out finisher numbers to timer who is manually recording times.

Setup medals and water on tables in the finish shoot then distribute as runners finish then direct them to the post race party.
